One, two, three, four.......

Posted by Ti (Alpharetta, United States) on 5 November 2009 in Animal & Insect.

He and Mr. Turtle were invited to Rabbit's house for dinner one night...
"We should celebrate, would you mind go get a bottle of wine, Turtle?", says the Rabbit.
"No, let me get it, I have more legs and run faster.", says Centipede.

An hour later still no sign of Centipede. Worrying about his safety the Rabbit went out to look for him and found him at the foyer.
"Good, you're back, what took you so long?"
"No, I haven't gone yet, still got six shoes to tie up.".....

Now posting on Monday and Thursday

Beautiful like eyelashes* and funny kid story ~

@k@: Maybe I should make some for use as eye lashes for Holloween? :-)

Zora Zoé from Berlin, Germany

WOW, this is mystic! Really adorable - a masterly shot - formidable !!

5 Nov 2009 11:05am

@Zora Zoé: It's very unusual for a woman to appreciate an insect photo! :-)

zOOm from Paris, France

Wow ! Hyper macro ? I hope, in fact. ;-)

@zOOm: It just a heavy crop, didn't have my extension tubes on...

I mean "Thanks" for your tip on my blog - it's still early for me :)

5 Nov 2009 12:22pm

@Christine Walsh: You're welcome.

You should provide the link to your blog so people can see your work, forgot about rule No. 1 already? :-)

daniela scharnowski from Berlin, Germany

wow, beautiful selected focus! Nice story bonus - This guy surely needs mopre than one shoe cabinet ;)

5 Nov 2009 1:15pm

@daniela scharnowski: Then it must be a "she", so never have enough shoes. :-)

Barbara Kile from Ft. Worth, United States

Cute story and a very nice image. I would have liked to see you shoot this at f/8-f/11 range to capture more of the little guy in focus, but nevertheless, you have a great capture here. I love the detail in the little legs.

5 Nov 2009 3:05pm

@Barbara Kile: If I had a tripod with me I would. :-)

The fact is I don't like using tripod, although I have a Manfrotto tripod and a carbon fiber monopod, besides, it would have been a real challenge setting up one since the centipede was in the bath tub! :-)

vz-nostalgia from Macao

You could easily call it "The things one can see in my house". LOL Told you, time to call the exterminator. :-)

6 Nov 2009 12:21pm

@vz-nostalgia: You worry about your athelete's foot and let me worry aobut my bugs, old man. :-)

Tammy Warren-Cricket from United States

hahahah...love the story! Great detailed photograph.

9 Nov 2009 1:35am

@Tammy Warren-Cricket: More is not necessary better, isn't it? :-)

Monique from Koh Samui, Thailand

LOL! Funny story Ti! I hate centipedes, they move so quick :( Once found a really really big one in the kitchen. Luckily it was dead, think the dogs had a play with it ;) I love the photo though ... wonderful DOF!

3 Dec 2009 6:17am

@Monique: The only bug I hate and afraid of is the big Asian flying cockroaches! Believe it or not I have had them three times at the bottom of my unfinished coffee cup, found that out only AFTER I drank the rest of the coffee....

It took three times for me to learn the lesson and now I'll never finish up a over night coffee unless I've stirred the cup thoroughly.... :-)
